Sima Yan 晉武帝 was a grandson of Sima Yi and son of Sima Zhao. Yan was the founding emperor of the Jin Dynasty and effectively ended the period of the Three Kingdoms when his dynasty conquered Wu in 280, which was the last standing dynasty of the three kingdoms.
